Who writes YourFinanceCoach

What the byline on each article means, and what we are careful not to claim.

What “YourFinanceCoach Editorial” means

Most articles here carry the byline YourFinanceCoach Editorial. That is a masthead, not a person. It means the piece was researched and written against the sourcing rules in our editorial policy, and that the site — not a named individual — stands behind it.

We use it deliberately rather than inventing an author. A byline exists so a reader knows who is accountable; attaching a fictional name to a page about credit or debt would defeat that. Where an article is written by a named individual, their name appears instead, and their entry is listed on this page.

Qualifications we do not claim

Nobody working on this site is presented as a Certified Financial Planner, financial adviser, accountant, mortgage broker, solicitor or credit-repair specialist. We hold no regulatory authorisation in the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia, and we are not permitted to give personal financial advice in any of them.

Where a page needs authority behind a claim, that authority is a named regulator or the provider's own disclosure, linked so you can check it — not a byline. See our financial disclosure for what that means for you, and where to get regulated advice.

How an article gets written

  1. Scope. We identify the question a reader is actually asking and which of the three markets it belongs to. Rules differ enough between them that a single page covering all three would be wrong somewhere.
  2. Research. Primary sources first: the regulator or government body that defines the rule, then the provider's own disclosure. We do not cite other content sites as authority for a figure.
  3. Draft. The answer goes at the top. Mechanics, worked examples and the limits of the advice follow.
  4. Source check. Every changeable figure is traced to a URL and dated. A page cannot display a verification date until this has genuinely been done — the build rejects it otherwise.
  5. Review. Where a second person has checked a page, they are named on it.

Reviewers

No article on this site currently carries a named reviewer. When one does, that person's name and the basis for their review will appear both on the article and here. We will not add a reviewer credit that does not correspond to a real person who actually read the page.
